Jersey Energy once again designed and managed all the Mechanical & Electrical services for the new CICS Headquarters on Don Street, St. Helier.
In collaboration with interior designers Axis Mason, new air conditioning and ventilation systems were installed into this existing converted building, which involved designing around limited external plant space. Low energy lighting and control systems have also been utilised to their full effect as CICS have now become one of the leading local companies in reducing their carbon footprint.
One of the more unique features designed and implemented by Jersey Energy is the inclusion of a “Heliobus” system. This system is based on existing technology but improves upon this concept to produce a much greater level of natural daylight being transferred into an office. The CICS Don Street premises can now boast of being one of the first in the UK to utilise this type of technology, saving both energy and carbon as well as creating a more natural atmosphere for staff who would otherwise not be near a window for natural daylight.
Jersey Energy were involved at the very early stages to look at sustainable and renewable options for the project. As part of this process, window positions were adjusted to provide better/improved natural lighting as well as sky lights added to the top floor to improve the openness and feel of the space.
