The Royal Bank of Canada’s main headquarters in Guernsey; Canada Court, underwent a major refurbishment to update their entire building services.

Jersey Energy delivered a strategy for the phased refurbishment of the site and its plant replacement. The complex design of air conditioning, ventilation and electrical services into the existing building whilst occupied and operational. A large video conference facility was installed to enable communication with clients across the world utilising one of the largest video conferencing systems in the Channel Islands. The design enabled the extensive use of natural light for the main reception and stairwell areas, producing a sharp and professional atmosphere whilst lowering the energy consumption of the building.

Jersey Energy engineered a solution to allow the existing VAV system to be pulled back and adapted, and established a phased installation of the new VRV air conditioning system to be located within the constraints of the underground car park, whilst ensuring noise was kept to a minimum along with the supply of fresh air to the occupied areas.
